To connect to WebTV Redialed using a VoIP adapter, you must first ensure your adapter is not locked. To do this, go to your adapter's control panel, and look for a line that says "Customization".
If your VoIP adapter is unlocked
You will see "Open" next to "Customization" if your adapter is unlocked. In this case, simply continue downwards.
If your VoIP adapter is locked
That's unfortunate. You will have to figure out a way to unlock it to continue with this guide. Every VoIP adapter's locking and unlocking procedures are different for every model and make. You can attempt to contact the company who manufactured your adapter, try one of the more commmon admin passwords (blank, admin, password, 1234), or simply buy an unlocked adapter. Assuming you can get it unlocked, or buy an unlocked one, you can continue below.
Once you have determined if your adapter is unlocked, go to it's admin mode, select Line 1, and change the following details: Server: sip.webtv.zone, Port: 16555, User ID: redialed, Password: redialed2, Codec: G711u (ulaw)"
Once you've done this, save your settings, connect your phone line to Line 1 of the adapter, and plug the other end into your Internet terminal, and turn it on. With any luck, your terminal will begin dialing.
